NOMINATED FOR Versatile Blogger Award

We've just been nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award on top of the Liebster Award which we received last month! So we would like to thank Jackie Harrison for nominating us http://tifi11.blogspot.co.uk :) We are incredibly grateful and so be sure to check out her lovely blog!

There are 3 rules:
1. Thank the person that nominated you, and give them a shout out on your blog with a link to theirs.
2. Share 7 random facts about yourself.
3. Send on the award to 15 other boggers whose blog you love and appreciate and then let them know they won the award.

This was M.G.’s definition of the award:
A mutual admiration society where bloggers recognize their peers for writing quality blogs that touched them in some way. The VBAs honor the blogger rather than specific posts. It’s a chance for bloggers to pat themselves on the back like the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences does with the Oscars. Until someone starts giving out Blogscars, the VBAs will have to
suffice.

7 things about us:
1. We both enjoy art, photography and generally just making things from scratch.
2. (Morag) I love bubble baths
3. (Morag) I love going to new places
4. (Morag) I love strawberries
5. (Julie) I've never tried sushi or been to Nandos
6. (Julie) I have a phobia of walking under scaffolding
7. (Julie) I like to attack presents with tape when gift wrapping mwahaha! >:)

Layering in Blue: Self-Made Jacket

Hi guys!
So here’s a jacket that I have designed and made in my free time which I wanted to incorporate in this outfit post as a form of layering. Recently I’ve been feeling the chill more than ever and have gravitated towards layering up, with, literally everything! I was particularly inspired by Bora Asku’s A/W 2013 collection where aesthetic connections can be extrapolated in the base and outer pieces through the use of neighbouring hues whilst maintaining uniqueness through its texture or intricate pattern differences! And breath! ;)

Looking a bit geisha-freaky here D: and slightly like that kid from the film Orphan...oh dear haha!

Made my own pattern with baking paper- it's far cheaper AND obtainable! :D

I picked this floral fabric up after initially sighting Jonathan Saunders A/W 2011 geometric wallpaper print collection from 2 years back…and was recently and non-expectantly reunited with it! Thank the Lord! ;) But to update the jacket seasonally, I decided to pair it over two blue leopard patterned items which ties in with the colour and complexity of pattern shown within the jacket! (Referring back to Asku)

T-shirt, Charity Shop, £2
Cardigan, Vintage Boutique, Gift
Jacket, Self-Made

Hope everyone is all well,

J

2 Creations alongside 2 Purchases

Hey guys! So I was finally allowed to take home my summer project garment that I had designed and made for my art foundation and as promised...here it is! (Note: I cheated as the skirt I paired it with is actually from Missguided :/ my bad! ;))
Reused fabric from a pair of trousers to create ‘the Mosquito bodysuit’

My first purchase which was sort of a ‘link staple’ for the outfit above- an undoubtedly must-have haha ;) are these River Island Leopard Print Wellies! They’re super comfy and perfect for those rainy days!
Leopard Print Wellies, River Island, £20 (20% off RI voucher with Elle Magazine)

My second purchase is a product which I have been constantly eyeing… and, with the arrival of my pay check comes the arrival of a mannequin!!
White Mannequin, Amazon,  £30.39 (inc delivery)
For my one day fashion project, we were limited with using just white card and some sort of connecting device in our brief to create a garment/accessory in the form of an object. I chose the ‘Letters to Juliet’ DVD :’) oh so romantic haha and created this compilation of the content inspired dress!

It's as Plain as Black&White (Outfit Post)

Top: Zara
Jeggings: New Look
Loafers: Primark

HEY EVERYONE LONG TIME NO BLOG FROM ME ;)

hope you're all well :) sorry to not post in ages as I never shut up about Uni i'm literally just absorbing uni life atm and I'm lovin' it!

to the outfit: one of my new lazy day outfits!
I have never been into the jeggings trend but I was after some really tight looking jeans and I thought I'd give em a try! they certainly fit the bill and can be worn with any top. certainly a good investment for my wardrobe :)

now everyone loves a plain white top to where with that funky patterned skirt/trousers or just to wear as a basic slump top and this bad boy from Zara fitted the bill. One thing I love about Zara their cotton tops are just so god damn comfy!

and to my loafers I got in summer... I love red shoes, and just had to buy... but even I see the tackiness of the gold buckle... ah well, I needed loafers in my life!

Hope you're all having a fabulous week!

October Wishlist 2013

1.       Kellen Fringed Trim Kimono, Daisy street.co.uk, £13.50 (inc 15% exclusive sign up discount)
I’m currently in love with kimonos! This one in particular ticks all the boxes with its exquisite baroque design and complementary white trim! :D I like the idea of playing with texture- imagine throwing this silky lightweight fabric over a wildly raised mohair jumper (that is item 3 of course ;))
2.       Timberland authentic Roll Top Boots, Schuh,£130
I’ve never been that particularly fond of the quintessential Timberland style boot- chunky, hardwearing and hence narrowly appealing to the manual worker specs. Though the tables have turned and I think of them as oh such beautifully constructed things :’) haha!
3.       Roll Neck Check Jumper, ASOS, £40
This is going to be so warm and fluffy for those approaching cold autumn/winter days. Plus the contrast of baby pink against striking lines of black makes an interesting turn out!

4.       Bat Wing Clutch Bag, ASOS, £18
Reminiscent of HALLOWEEN! Batman? This clutch is the perfect seasonal staple for evening nights out! It’s black and so will be sure to go with EVERYTHING! :D
5.       Drop Waist Midi Skirt, River Island, £40
This skirt displays a womanly elegance whilst creating a power striking stand at the same time! I’ve become fascinated by the current trend of mixing rural with city and this piece is no exception- so instead of pairing it with a delicate pointed heel , I’ll be going for the farmer-esque Timberland for that um...quite different grungy look :D
